Is chasing after the wrong man exciting? I wouldn’t know. I can’t say that I’ve ever felt a thrill after keeping at a man that’s no good.
It’s more like a dull ache that develops over time after running behind a man, and realizing a few things:
- He’s not the one and may have never been… shocker.
- The time I (you) put into him is a loss, so it’s time to accept it and finally let go
- I (you) am destined to find better. It’s God’s reward for putting up with such bullshit. Right? I mean it has to be.
The unfortunate thing though?
Not many women have reached that point of discovery.
A lot of women are still chasing after men that are just no good. Men that are so trash they are taking everything from you and you can’t even see how gone you are.
Your blinders are on and sis…. It’s time to take them off, wipe your eyes, and see them for exactly what they are.
No good.
So it goes without saying that today’s post serves as a PSA to all the women chasing behind men that don’t have your six (military reference). That don’t have your back the way that they’re supposed to. Men that suck the life out of you, but are thriving in the midst of your downfall.
You sis, you deserve better. So much better.
I know that it seems like you are deserving of his bad behavior. Or that you make it too hard to love you. Maybe even that if you changed a few things about yourself, he’ll be more willing to change.
But those are all lies, that don’t hold a candle to the gem you actually are.
It doesn’t matter that you think you can’t get better. What matters is understanding that you can and do deserve better.
So in the words of Keri Hilson,
