Can we just talk about the unspoken (but actually spoken) rule of not wearing white after Labor Day?
Who the hell came up with that anyway.
Growing up I’d always heard that wearing white after Labor Day was a no no, but what I couldn’t figure out was why?
What makes wearing white after Labor Day such a faux pas y’all?
I’m honestly really asking. For the fashion OGs leave a comment below if you know. I’d actually love to get a better understanding of what that is lol.
Nevertheless, if you babes are anything like me — you’re paying less attention to these supposed fashion rules and more attention to how to break them with style and grace.
So keep reading as I take you through today’s style post that’s all about breaking the rules. Of course looking amazing while doing so because… duh.
So rule breaking…
I’ve always had a particular fascination with the color white. In church white signifies purity. In healthcare (my field), it signifies cleanliness. Some cultures even view the color as regal and of high class status.
I mean can you blame any of them though?
White is just so damn sharp.
So it stands to reason that my post Labor Day vibes are all about the whites. Rule breaker over here, okuuuur.
However, I do recognize that there is a such thing as too much white so I’m holding back and keeping the whites at an appropriate minimum.
MY LOOK: I decided to rock my favorite white sleeveless blazer from Zara and pair it with a simple spaghetti strap top I’ve had as a staple in my closet for years. For my bottoms, I went with my latest purchase from H&M and finished off the look with my to die for bb heels from Zara (linked similar) as well.
Thoughts babes?
Are we thinking that breaking the rules and wearing white after Labor Day just might be the move?
I’d like to think so and I sure hope you all think so as well.
To breaking the rules after Labor Day one white look or two at a time?
