WHAT’S IN MY BAG: SUMMER EDITION

As many of you babes know, I die for a good bag. I’m practically always on the hunt for one, whether I realize it or not.  It’s an item that goes with me everywhere, not only as an accessory, but as a carrier of essential items I might need while out and about.

In today’s post, I’m sharing what’s in my bag; summer edition and why they’re such essential items for me.

However, before jumping into today’s post I wanted to share a couple of things with you guys:

  • I’m making a purposeful effort to be consistent on the blog, so you all can look forward to new content on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
  • I really want to build a community of millennial mavens, so if there is anything y’all want to see more of on WLT — don’t hesitate to let me know!

Okay now back to today’s post xx.

Compact Mirror (that also doubles down as a wallet): This item is a no brainer. With the Houston humidity on a mission to ruin makeup all summer long, this is a must have. It allows me to closely examine my face for any mishaps and works a lot better than the camera on my phone. This particular compact mirror is also amazing because it can serve as a wallet as well. If it looks familiar to you, that’s because it more than likely is. When purchasing a gift card from Sephora, this compact mirror is what houses the card. I also love it because I’m not really into carrying big fat wallets everywhere for two specific reasons. One, they tend to not fit in every bag. & Two, I’ve never been one to have so much in my wallet that I needed a big one anyway.

Tweezers: I ALWAYS have these bad boys in my bag along with some form of eyelash glue, solely for the maintenance of my lashes. Being out and about comes with a lot. You never know what situations may occur that might prompt your lashes to stray off course. I guess I just rather be overly prepared then under prepared. In my opinion nothing’s more embarrassing than your eyelashes falling off, in the middle of an outing with friends or worse… YOUR MAN.

Lip Balm: Every freaking woman should have this in her bag, idc idc. Eating, talking, laughing, hell anything can result in dry lips. Personally, I don’t make a habit of having dry or cracked lips. I hate the feeling. This particular brand is amazing! A friend gifted it to me last year for my birthday and omg I don’t think I’ll ever get over it. It actually moisturizes your lips similar to a thickened vaseline, but without the fading moisture and eventual peeling.

Marc Jacobs Lip Gloss: I LOVE THIS PRODUCT. Since being introduced to it a few years ago, it’s been my favorite lippie go to. The gloss doesn’t give that overly smacky effect and provides the perfect amount of shine.

Black Ink Pen: I’m a writer, so obvi. You never know when you might need to write something down or are with someone who needs to. I also believe there’s a level of maturity that comes with having a pen on you at all times. Don’t ask me to explain lol, just vibe with me on it.

Fenty Lip Gloss: the bomb.com period LOL. A this point it’s not hard to assume that when I’m out my lips are never cracked or dry. I’m not much of a lipstick wearing babe and to be honest, I probably won’t ever be. However, that doesn’t stop me from loving the tones that come with certain lip glosses.

Zara Perfume: (original no longer available, linked similar) I make a point of having a “pick me up” perfume at all times. Whether it’s a rollerball or the perfume itself, I like to have it with me. Especially if I plan on being out for an extended period. It’s the perfect refresher and makes staying yummy smelling that much more attainable.
