WHAT TO WEAR ON A FIRST DATE

So you’ve gone and done it. You’ve secured a first date with someone you have interest in. You can’t wait to get dressed up and look your best because first impressions are a thing. Very much so.

However, just as excited as you were you begin to panic.

You panic because you have no idea what to even wear on a First Date. You want to give: I’m confident, I’m fly, and I have it going on but you’re unsure of how to with your look.

Not to fret though babes.

I’m here to help!

Rule #1: don’t reveal it all.

There’s no reason that you should let it all hang out when you’re on a date with someone new. Leave something to the imagination. Let them wonder about what you may or may not have to offer before you let it hang all out. There’s a way to show off your femininity without having to show the person you’re on a date with — everything. In due time, all good things will reveal itself soon enough. 😉

Rule #2: choose something that you feel comfortable in.

I can’t stress this enough. You need to be in comfortable clothes in order to present your best self. When you’re in clothing that is tight and uncomfortable, your personality will showcase that. You’ll also spend so much time focused on the discomfort you feel in what you have on than the conversation at hand.

Rule #3: Have clothing options chosen at least a week before the scheduled date.

Preparation is key. When you have things organized, it makes settling the mind about what you will wear that much easier. It also helps when you’re able to try on different looks and see how they make you feel before the day of. Personally, when I’ve chosen an outfit the day of a date — 9/10 I don’t end up wearing it. I guess just never ends up looking how I thought it would in my head. This resulting in time wasted when I could have prepped ahead of time and avoided the waste all together.

Rule #4: stay away from wild colors and prints.

You want the attention to be on you and not what you have on. Wild colors and prints can be very distracting and the focus should be on you. Nothing else. I recommend sticking to neutrals or contemporary colors. Black is almost always flattering.

Rule #5

Be you and the rest will follow.

I think this speaks for itself. Just be yourself. When you look good, you feel good.

Remember to be you and the rest will surely follow.
