The weekend’s here and it’s time to get wild. Well not really, but kinda..

For all the plans you may or may not have, having the perfect outfit just incase is definitely a MUST. Whether you’re going on another weekend date with your SO (significant other), grabbing a quick bite to eat by your lonesome, hanging with the girls, or coffee shop chilling — killing it casual style is always a great idea. For me, casual weekend style is all about looking fly; being comfy; and giving chic realness all at the same damn time.

There are some key ways to achieve casual weekend style that I’ve picked up along the way, that I wanted to share with you all:

TENNIS SHOES

So when trying to achieve casual weekend style, tennis shoes are a MUST. However, not just any tennis shoes, they have to be THE tennies. The ones that are pretty plain and don’t have much going on are the perfect staple for executing the perfect casual style on the weekends. Usually, they’re slightly worn down-looking but not in an appalling sort of way. I mostly opt for the tennies to be white because they offer up a sense of cleanliness to the look, so as to not look like I just rolled out of bed and threw on what didn’t make it in the laundry bin. As some of you may know, I’m not a huge fan of tennis shoes, but I’ll rock for some good casual weekend style any Saturday.

JACKET OR COAT

Nothing says, I’m feeling casual and not taking myself too seriously than a jacket; specifically a bomber jacket. They’re so cool and back in the day primarily a guys’ jacket. BUT. I love the way us women have taken over them and make our mark on total bad ass kingdom in fly ass bomber jackets.

They keep you warm against the random weekend winds and are also great for storing quick cash, gum, or trinkets in their pockets.

COMFORTABLE DRESS

So this is the chic aspect of the casual weekend style. I loooooooooove a good comfy dress. Like this much (my hands are currently spread out as wide as they can go). They add the best semblance of femininity that makes my world go round.

I’m such a girly girl you guys lol.

A dress that’s comfortable says to your SO: Not trying so hard to have everything right & tight because I know you love me anyway, to your girls: we’re gonna have so much fun peeping guys and doing silly shit while drinking at the local bar, to the people checking you out at the coffee shop: I’m approachable, but still care enough to not come to the coffee shop looking haggard.
