Holla! HOWDY, HOWDY.
Giving you oh so Texas vibes with my spanish and country greeting LOL.
Coming back at you babes with regenerated energy because I’m so freaking excited to chat with you guys about my trip to Austin. I had so much fun and getting to celebrate my girlfriend Jules’ bach party was the best part of it all.
You guys, Austin did me so good.
I ate good food. Drank yummy drinks (mostly took shots, but I did have some delicious champagne; mixed in with raspberry lemonade). Got to rock my swimsuits for basically three days straight. Essentially, getting to live my best life in a matter of a weekend.
Saying Austin did me some good is an understatement because it did me so well babes. Eeek.
The trip came together as a surprise for my girl Jules. I mean she obviously knew her soon to be sister in law Tamara (who is the coolest freaking semi adult I’ve ever partied with, EVER btw) was throwing it, she just didn’t know all the details of what exactly the weekend was going to entail.
She had no idea where we were going, what we were doing, that in a few hours we’d all be rocking red super cute ‘brideguard‘ tanks while she wore white and the cutest veil ever, or how drunk she was going to be on night one.
Sidenote: Jules isn’t much of a drinker. Not much of a drinker as in, she’ll take two sips of alcohol and be loopy, so just take a sec and imagine her taking shots upon shots, drinking champagne, and all the sorts in a matter of a few hours that night.
Got the picture in y’alls head yet?
She was twisted and I loved every second of it.
So much so that she may or may not have ended up getting a piggy back ride from me and sleeping on the floor (head rested on someone’s lap of course) on the corner of the infamous 6th street.
Saturday was more of a chill drunken situation if ever there was such a thing. Us girls donned our various swimsuits bright and early after falling asleep in a haze some time after 4:30am – 5am. Sunglasses that morning were a must because baaaaby, some of us were looking… not the greatest (myself included).
After all, there’s nothing like sunglasses and advil (last night was mad real LOL, I could not pass that opportunity up) to hide the debaucheries of the previous night like a G.
The captain undocked us and we were off.
A cruise around Lake Travis and several mimosas later, I was feeling gooood. Mimosas have the power to do your body some good babes, I kid you not. After an hour or so, we were all feeling airy, light, and oh so relaxed. Some of us feeling it more than others and taking a nap on the lower levels of the boat (me NOT included).
Nevertheless, I couldn’t miss out on an opportunity to see Austin in the light I did that afternoon, so staying up was a must for me. Granted, I’d been to Austin several times, but nothing could have prepared me for this past weekend. Driving up in the middle of the hills and seeing the water… left me speechless. It also left me with the decision that I must own or rent a houseboat at some point in my life.
Did I mention we stayed on the most beautiful houseboat? S/o to the owners for being the cutest coolest couple I’ve ever met.
It was all too beautiful and got even more beautiful when we set sail on Lake Travis.
After visiting a floating bar (Narley Bar) and chowing down on the best catfish I’ve had in a while, we were back on the boat and off once again.
Have I mentioned that Austin did us girls good yet or no?
There’s just something to be said about not doing anything remotely straining all weekend long. It’s been so long since I lived the ‘don’t have shit to do so I’m just going to chill life‘ with me being in nursing school and all. SO you can imagine me quite literally foaming at the mouth with excitement every single time and sat back without a care in the world for whatever consequences when I got back to Houston.
I call that living on the wild side, baby.
After a few hours spent in the sun, I showered up (slathering coconut oil all over my body because I forgot my Jergens lotion, eye roll) and got ready for dinner.
On the menu was Lasagna and salad which I was a little too excited for.
1) Because I couldn’t remember the last time I had a bite of real food (it had only been a few hours, I ate the best catfish I’ve had in awhile, remember? I’m so dramatic sometimes LOL) & 2) I needed some more food in my stomach to make room for the endless amount of drinking we still had to do later that night while we played Bottoms up.
Remember the:
the coolest freaking semi adult I’ve ever partied with, EVER? Yeah Tamara!
Well she made the yummiest cosmo punch I’ve ever had a sip of in my freaking life (granted I’ve only been drinking legally for less than a year, so there’s that —- Told you guys I was a bit dramatic sometimes LOL)
Never have I been happier to have to take a sip if the slip of paper pertained to me.
Sunday, was more of a wake up at your own leisure (well not too much leisure because we had to be out of there by at least 1pm-ish) and get things cleaned up.
Fruits, Kolaches, and Cinnamon rolls were on the menu that morning.
All in all, this weekend in Austin was LIT.
I definitely recommend, if you haven’t already — visiting Austin and getting a houseboat on Lake Travis. There’s something so refreshing about waking up to the serenity of birds chirping and overall peacefulness being out there brings. It def does your soul some good, for sure.
Also. quick shoutout to Asos Swimwear for holding it dooooown this past weekend. I snagged all my swimwear from them and each one turned out KILLA.

I headed back to Houston later that afternoon to real life and very real responsibilities.
So much for the ‘don’t have shit to do so I’m just going to chill life‘. My ‘you’ve got shit to do and still have things to study for life‘ had other plans.
Anyway.
As I sit here finishing up this post at 6am, getting ready to shower and head to school for my first final, I can’t help but reminisce.
Someone take me back to the weekend and sipping on mimosas and kicking back shots like there was no tomorrow. I want to go back.
Came into this post feeling eager to share my weekend and now that I have, I’m feeling despondent and sad. HA! So much for a weekend recap.
Kicking my ass into gear because of real life and real responsibilities.
Laters babes,
Thelms xx
