The moment Draya Michele decided to leave Basketball Wives for good, was the best thing that ever happened to her. Ever since leaving, this babe has set the tone for how possible it is to go from where she was then to where she is today. Ain’t God good? She is someone who is respected in both the fashion industry and throughout the business community. That is why today I want to shed light on her rise to the top and why she’s my WCW this month!
As a fan, it has been beautiful to watch the transformation and rise of someone who many did not believe would make it as far as she has. Yeah she may have had her dirt in the pass, but who in this world hasn’t?
What has been most remarkable about Draya is the fact that she’s always owned it. Nevertheless, in owning it she’s made it clear that she’s ready to be known for more. From putting her entrepreneurial hat on and starting the well known swimwear line, Mint Swim (worn by the likes of Mary J. Blige, Kim Kardashian, and Zendaya — just to name a few). To creating the brand Fine Ass Girls and just recently opening up a nail shop… this babe has taken great strides to prove that she’s more than what her past has subjected her to.
& prove it she has.
Draya Michele is a powerhouse.
She is a mother of two with two step children who makes grinding look so worth it.
Did I mention she acts and her style is on point?!
In the past two years she has upped the ante when it comes to style. Causing her to become a force to be reckoned with.
Don’t even get me started on how she shut shit down during NYFW this past September. Of course being sure to touch on her killer looks during Paris Fashion Week just a few days ago as well.
I can’t help but be in awe of the woman she has become while saying sayonara to the woman the world thought her to be.
Whew. I’m inspired.
Draya Michele inspires me y’all.
She reminds me that caring what others think of you and changing their perception should never be the objective.
Instead changing the narrative for the betterment of yourself is what is truly important. That alone is what matters above all else.
So to Draya, I say this: Keep inspiring us women through fashion, ownership where business is related, and everything in between. I appreciate the constant reminder that no matter what environment we may be privy to, we belong and we matter. No matter where we come from.
Side note: any chance we could get a peek into your closet and all it’s hidden gems lol?
