My Words

Walk the Line

In order to stay healthy, sometimes it’s not all about working out and eating right. I believe that it is also very much a mental thing. Mentally speaking we have to keep ourselves sane and steadfast in who we are. For me, in order to do that I write. I’ve always loved to read and write. Writing about my experiences (both good + bad) has helped me through so many different stages in my life. I wanted to share with you guys a new series I’m starting on the blog that will be never ending. Every Tuesday, I want to share my words with you guys. I’ve always wanted to share my writings and my blog is the perfect place to do that.

I’m no Shakespeare or a poet, I promise I’m not that. Just feel my words wash over you, it’ll be like our weekly chat.

WALK THE LINE

It’s straight, narrow, crooked, and sometimes loops around

It’s a line nonetheless,

with knots that aren’t easily found

I’ll turn it into anything you need if reassurance is what it takes,

You’ve always done that much for me

I’ll be here, I’ll be there — I promise, for goodness sake

You’ve been…

The diary my secrets bury itself in when I need to write,

You’ve been my safe haven and rough pillow

when I can’t seem to sleep at night.

The world I know spins because the axis never quits,

you’ve had my back since day one and that I’ll never forget.

Tears stream down my eyes because laughing so hard hurts,

I know I don’t say it often, but trust… I have the words.

“I love you, I love you…” I’d say,

To explain how much would be deafening however

to all open to hear,

But if they asked me why, I’d be happy to explain over just one beer.

The line is so thin, but for you’d I’d walk

Miles times a thousand, I’d do my best to make it

before my legs shook with shock

Till the end we swear, there’s so much more to come

I’d walk the line for you silly,

and be the opposite of everything you’re running from.
