Good morning tribe! I can’t believe it’s already Monday. As always, the weekend skedaddled before I even had a chance to say goodbye. Figures. Today, I’m headed to work and grabbing some stuff for my next shoot with Jules (she’s my photographer and good girlfriend since forever)! I committed to a few other things as well, so today’s looking pretty jampacked. Am I the only one who’s on a high over the weekend because it’s the weekend and commits to sooo much thinking the week will never come? Will I ever learn geez. Usually, when I have so much going on doing my hair is the last thing on my mind. That’s when turbans come into play for me! Turban takeover in 3..2..1
Turbans are my favorite way to style my hair when I’m on the go, especially when perfecting my falsies takes longer than expected. They make running out the house so much easier! However, instead of using the traditional turbans that are sold at the mall — I tie mine myself. Taking a scarf that I have in my closet, I tuck, pull, and prod till it’s just right. If you guys would like me to show you how I do it in a video, let me know in the comments below!
Unfortunately, many people shy away from turbans because they’re not sure how to work it into a look. Today’s outfits are all about how I style my turban three different ways!
So, what do you guys think so far of this turban takeover? Do you love or do you love? The first look is all about denim. I figure with the presence of fall, denim is such a go to for many peeps (you guys included). I love denim on denim because it eliminates a lot of hassle. It’s a one stop shop type of look. I diffused the denim with nude chunky heels from Steve Madden and accessorized with a satchel from the designer as well.
The second look was more about re-introducing the feminine aspect of my wardrobe. I’m super into appearing as feminine as possible most days, so styling my turban wouldn’t be me if I didn’t include a dress in the mix. This dress from Forever 21 is so fall, not only because of the color but the style as well. I thought the red of my turban would do well to make the black of my dress more intriguing.
The last look takes us home because this trench from Boohoo is major. Who does fall right without a camel toned trench? NO ONE. I’ve been told that red is my color, so I paired the red top from Forever 21 with tights and wedges (because wedges aren’t just for summer and hot shorts).
So tribe, what do you guys think? I hope you loved it, just as much as I loved shooting this! Maybe it’ll give you some ideas and cause you to reconsider reaching for a baseball cap on your next bad hair, I mean hectic day.
