Blogging doesn’t come as easy as some people may think and that’s the truth about blogging.
Behind the scenes, bloggers like myself put in a lot of work to put out quality posts that babes who check out the blog will truly enjoy. There are photo shoots to plan, aesthetics to maintain, and blog posts to write which at times can get pretty challenging to keep up with.
Don’t get me wrong though! I love everything that comes with blogging. For one, I love that I have a permanent platform (for as long as I keep up with this), where I will always be heard. I get to share things with you guys that I don’t always get to express in my day to day life. I also love that through my words without meeting me, you get some insight into the type of person I am.
BUT, like I said it can be pretty challenging.
Sometimes, I feel this pressure to constantly put out new content on the blog. I get a ton of babes on instagram tell me what a great job I do with keeping up with it all while being in nursing school. It baffles me at times that people think this because in all honesty, I don’t always think I’m doing that great of a job “keeping up with it all.”
Here’s why:
1) I don’t always have things to chat about
Sometimes I literally have nothing to say. Wah. This bothers me because if I have nothing to say, I won’t post. It’s my dream to post daily and constantly have new content for y’all, but it isn’t always my reality… obvi. I also refuse to put out fluff content in the midst of a blogging dry spell. For that very reason I’m not as consistent as I would like to be when it comes to blogging. I’m working on it though, I promise.
2) Blogging is kind of difficult
I love blogging so much and it’s been such a safe place for me since I started a couple of years ago. However, there’s soooo much that goes into one blog post. You guys, when I post something know that I worked through a few things before doing so. For example, the photos I need for the post, the outfit I’m going to shoot, the way the photos will be incorporated into my instagram feed, what audience I’m trying to appeal to, what time the post should be promoted on various social media channels… see what I mean? Difficult at times to say the least. Honesty hour, even writing this post has been kinda difficult, taking me about four hours to complete LOL.
3) Creating fresh content is extremely time consuming
Per my previous sentiments, blogging takes a lot of time out of any day I’m honed in on it. I mean, I’m constantly thinking about ways to improve my blog and it’s freaking time consuming. In addition to that, creating a post can take me anywhere from 2 hours to 5/6 hours on a given day. On top of that, the creative aspect needs to be ironed out to add the visual side of the writing part of the post. I’m talking putting looks together, choosing shoot locations, and editing the photos taken — it is a lot you guys.

4) Being a blogger isn’t cheap y’all
In order to be a blogger, you have to be willing to spend some coin. Blogging isn’t cheap because think about it: you’re rocking clothes that babes have to be interested in buying (which means spending more), appropriate promotions are a necessity (also not cheap), and incorporating different experiences (like travel, eating out, etc) are critical to give babes who read the blog something unique to look forward to (definitely not cheap).
I say all of this to say, that though I love this aspect of life, so much so that it never really feels like work — it is work.
It takes a lot of work to produce quality content for With Love, Thelms. This is why every comment, share, like, and so forth concerning the blog means so much to me. All of that continues to give me the push to keep creating and finding better ways to bring you babes stellar content, always.
Though the truth about blogging can be harsh and not as glamorous as it’s been made to seem, it’s beautiful and for me very worthwhile.
SO.
To many more posts with quality content behind them,
Thelms
