TRENCHING

Typing from bed right now where I’m currently freezing my ass off. It’s so cold I can barely think straight. Why isn’t the heater on? I’ll admit that I’m usually one of the last people to accept that it’s cold outside. I try to continue throwing T-shirts and light cardis on like it’s October. I’ll continue to wear sandals like it’s July, and I’ll also continue to rock racerbacks to bed like I’m not going to wake up freezing my ass off. Smart moves, Thelms.

The past few days have felt like what Alaska residents feel everyday of their… life? I’m sure. Or at least I think so. Leaving my house legit feels like a battle I’m having with myself everyday.

Do I really need to make money today? Should I shoot new blog looks today? Do I really need to grab a sandwich from the local deli (who might I add makes the meanest turkey sandwich)?

BUT. I find myself asking those questions less and less because I have a new secret weapon against this god awful (I kinda like it soooometimes) weather.

My fave trench.

YOU GUYS. This trench makes me want to juju to somebody’s beat, it’s so major.

The way the coat just barely cuts off right above the ankles makes me want to squeal. It keeps me warm and is incredibly soft on the inside. Ahhh (brb trying not to lose my shit over talking about a coat).

I mean, this coat is such a moment. The broad lapels are literally my favorite part, and make me feel like a member of POPE & associates (Scandal fans, where y’all at?). I think I could even pass as Olivia from the back after losing the denim and switching to slacks, maybe? A girl can dream.

Speaking of denim, I wanted to lighten the intensity of the coat so I added a high waist pair to the look. A flowy white top that I tucked in a bit and black heels finished it all off.

Trenching on a Wednesday, never felt so good.
