The 58th annual Grammy Awards were on last night and if you missed it you didn’t miss much. The show was pretty bland outside of the electrifying performance by Kendrick Lamar, the somber sounds of Tori Kelly & James Bay, and the Taylor Swift’s intro. To be honest, it was probably the most boring award show I’ve seen in a long time. It definitely didn’t help that I’m a huge fan of Rihanna and she canceled her performance last minute due to an illness. However, the boring show didn’t stop the fashions from raging on! The fashions ranged between subtle and outrageous. This isn’t a surprise because at the Grammy Awards the looks are always so unpredictable. There was even an artist who wore a Hello Kitty onesie! This is the show that I believe every celebrity would love to attend in terms of free dress because the outfit selections are so freeing, and not as stuffy as the Oscars or the Golden Globes. I have gotten a group of people together that were my personal best dressed looks of the night!

Last night Bella Hadid was there to support her man, The Weeknd and looked amazing while doing it. In this Alexandre Vauthier Paris number, she couldn’t have commanded the red carpet any better. The very deep V in the front of the dress was perfect. The cut outs at the waist really helped define her frame in a flattering way. It didn’t appear overwhelming because her chest isn’t as attention grabbing as maybe a bustier woman, like Kim Kardashian. The middle part in her hair, the everything is black look… She was my favorite look from the night.
My second favorite look of the night was Ms. Ellie Goulding. She was so beautiful in this Stella McCartney blush pink. I mean it was just so posh and pretty. I mean coming from Stella McCartney you expect nothing less because the designer always has the most simple (sometimes with a bit of edge), but beautiful pieces. Also, you guys know how obsessed I am with blush pinks and pastels, so this was a no brainer. I love the very soft glam she did in accordance with her look. The tousled hair combed over 3/4 to one side gave me major #hairgoals fever. The simplicity of the necklace and the choice to go with not so many rings, summed up the perfection that was her look last night.
I squealed when I saw Carrie Underwood on the red carpet in this Nicolas Jebran gown. I don’t know if it was because she looked so darn beautiful or because I was obsessing of the style of her short hair: Either way I squealed. The chest area of the gown was so intricate (it looked like some sort of rouching of rose petals) and different from the fabric on the rest of the dress. I thought the leg out was daring and will forever be on trend since Angelina’s leg first hit the 2012 Oscars. Don’t remember? Get a quick refresher here! I will say that her look probably would’ve been more appropriate for the Primetime Emmy Awards or the Oscars, though there’s no reason she’d be invited to either. Shucks!
Now Skylar Grey was my last best dressed of last night’s Grammy Awards. The detailing on the front of the dress really drew me in initially, and her smile and the cape of some sort kept me intrigued. I really liked the sheer and the high neck that didn’t lack detail either. Again, due to this award show being a place of free dress and without many fashion rules; this look fit right in. I do wish she wore studs and not dangly earring so as to not distract from the detailing on her dress whatsoever.
