TAKING MY HAIR FROM SHIT TO IT

That gah damn bed hair is a killer, isn’t it?

If you’re any girl in the entire global hemisphere — you’re bound to wake up with shitty morning hair. It’s just a thing us girls have to deal with (eye roll). Unless you’ve had a Sanaa Lathan moment and shaved it all off for the sake of a movie (or whatever else). In any event, dealing with a head full of messy hair can be tough. However, I’ve recently figured out how I’m taking my take my hair from shit to it when I’m crunched for time in the AM.

& naturally, I want to share that with y’all.

Between work, school, social events, and everything else — mornings can get pretty hectic for us all. In my case, it’s because of that at times that my face AND hair suffer the consequences. I’m not even gonna lie, it makes me feel shitty sometimes when it ends up that way.

Probably because I’m in my early 20’s and want to have everything together at all times.

Oh the never ending pressures of being an early 20 something year old.

Nevertheless, I figure if I can come up with a decent plan to get my hair together at all times, it might just transcend to my face and so forth.

After showering, brushing my teeth, and washing my face — I jump straight into taking my hair from shit to it.

STEP 1: BRUSH IT OUT.

I’m a big believer of brushing out the madness that is morning bed hair. I mean it’s the only way to truly see what you’re working with. I use either a wide tooth comb or a massive round brush to accomplish this. ***warning*** Your hair will look tamer than it did when you initially woke up, but that’s the goal right.

STEP 2: WORK SOME PRODUCT IN.

This is super necessary. Doing this will help continue to tame the wildness. I like to work in a leave in conditioner (with extra water mixed in by the palm of my hand) or sea spray by Verb. The sea spray does a great job of bringing out the natural wave in my extensions. It also smells pretty great. However, I do go for the leave-in conditioner spray a majority of the time. I find that it works best at helping me achieve the perfect toned down wave! When working products in, I usually do one thing: make use of my hands. After brushing out my hair in step 1, I don’t use a brush or comb again. My hands just tend to get the job done more efficiently if you ask me.

STEP 3: STYLE IT.

You guys this is the easiest part! Whether it’s a ponytail, braid, top knot or whatever; your hair has now been perfectly prepped for anything. In my case I usually go for the low ponytail or the half up half down style. If I have enough time to throw in a few curls with my wand, it’s a messy (but cute) hair down kind of day.

That’s it babes! Just like that I’ve taken my hair fro shit to it. If you follow these three easy steps, so can y’all.

To better hair days,
