UPLIFTING WORDS TO REMAIN SANE DURING QUARANTINE

Happy Wednesday babes. I decided that in today’s post I would share some uplifting words to remain sane during quarantine. This is a trying time for us all and although things are beginning to open again — we are still living life in a way we’ve never lived it before. So I hope this post reminds you that though we may be all going a bit stir crazy — we are loved, we are valuable, and God is always in control.  Continue Reading

THE MAN I KNEW I WANTED TO LOVE

Man I knew I Wanted to Love

I  once met a man I knew I wanted to love.

He was charismatic, but kind,

Hard, but damn fine

He knew his way in the kitchen to that I could attest,

making it hard for me to compare his capabilities to the rest.

He was the kind of man who warmed me up when I was cold,

simple things that gave way to getting to the depths of my soul.

So it stands to reason that this man was someone I’d always knew I wanted to know.

Because as a child, I had pictured,

A man that was charismatic and just as kind,

who brought more to the table than just a few smooth lines.

He’d be a listener who’d catch every word I’d say,

letting me run my  mouth to no end, but right there he would stay.

Not to be confused, I would be his support system just as much as he’d be mine.

With an unshakeable foundation,

prepared to stand the test of time.

That’s what I’d always wanted for myself,

this I could never deny.

And to think I met him, then later questioned why.

Here’s the thing about meeting the man I knew I wanted to love.

I never said finding then keeping him,

wouldn’t be a challenge all on its own.

FORGIVE & NEVER FORGET

forgive never forget

I know that they say forgiveness is necessary to cleanse the soul,

But I don’t think they considered that to forgive AND forget is a whole other battles of its own.

To forget would mean letting go of the important lesson you needed to learn,

it’s what stops us from making the same mistake twice,

because the last lesson actually burned.

In the way that a chubby finger touches a hot stove when kept there for much too long,

from then on you remember the importance of right vs. wrong.

See right there? That’s the beauty in never forgetting hard times you experience,

I call it the kick in the ass everyone needs to avoid yet another oversight… period.

Basically, what I’m trying to say is that one should never forget although forgiveness is key,

it’s what truly makes this world go round and if you haven’t figured that out yet,

I pray to God, someday you might truly see.

“Forgive, and never forget”, it’s what I’ll say till I’m old and possibly gray,

I pray I remember these sentiments if ever mind starts to slip away.
