There’s something to be said for old friends that ride the wave with you into your twenties. Naturally they’re a comfort because you’ve known them for years prior and if you all’s friendship survives the trials and tribulations of *teenhood, you’d hope that the same could be said for adulthood. Would you rather be satisfied or content? Are they synonyms of each other or opposing words depending on one’s perspective? Last night I went to dinner with a girlfriend and this question became the basis of a really amazing conversation. It’s a question that is often posed when it comes to the interaction between two interested parties. Society gives us the impression more often than not, that we have to be one or the other. That to be a realist is to miss out on the love and passion that a romantic encompasses and vice versa. But why? Why does it have to be one or the other?
