CHOOSE MYSELF

choose myself

I should choose myself sometimes.

I don’t mean in the way you choose girls night over staying in. Or ramen over takeout. I mean like really choosing yourself in a way that makes a significant impact in your life. Putting your needs above everybody else’s. Continue Reading

HOW TO MAKE STICKING TO YOUR NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS A PRIORITY

Resolutions

Good afternoon babes! So how’s 2019 been treating you guys so far?! Although we’re all only two full days in, it’s worth inquiring about. If you’re like me — many of you have come up with ways (or rather resolutions) to get a jump on making 2019 a year of improvement and growth.

The problem is as much as we try, we’re only human. Meaning, making resolutions is the easy part. Sticking to them? Another battle of its own. THE MAN I KNEW I WANTED TO LOVE

Man I knew I Wanted to Love

I  once met a man I knew I wanted to love.

He was charismatic, but kind,

Hard, but damn fine

He knew his way in the kitchen to that I could attest,

making it hard for me to compare his capabilities to the rest.

He was the kind of man who warmed me up when I was cold,

simple things that gave way to getting to the depths of my soul.

So it stands to reason that this man was someone I’d always knew I wanted to know.

Because as a child, I had pictured,

A man that was charismatic and just as kind,

who brought more to the table than just a few smooth lines.

He’d be a listener who’d catch every word I’d say,

letting me run my  mouth to no end, but right there he would stay.

Not to be confused, I would be his support system just as much as he’d be mine.

With an unshakeable foundation,

prepared to stand the test of time.

That’s what I’d always wanted for myself,

this I could never deny.

And to think I met him, then later questioned why.

Here’s the thing about meeting the man I knew I wanted to love.

I never said finding then keeping him,

wouldn’t be a challenge all on its own.
