I voted for the first time in 2016 during the presidential election that got Donald Trump sworn into office. I’m ashamed to admit that because I was 21 at the time. For one, I’m ashamed that I hadn’t taken an active part in the fight for change and allowing my voice to be heard prior to that election — being that I was given the opportunity to do so since turning 18.
Have you ever just met someone and y’all just clicked? I’m talking, talk for minutes to hours about any and everything. They get you in a way most people don’t. There’s just an instant connection, you know? You can be raw and unfiltered with the understanding that doing so with them is safe. It’s been a wild and amazingly challenging two years, let me tell you babes.
It feels like just yesterday, I was getting oriented about the Do’s & Don’ts of nursing school. I remember sitting in the front row of the auditorium feeling so nervous, and yet so excited at the same time. I had confidence that I was going to absolutely crush nursing school, but I wasn’t sure what doing so would look like.
Two weekends ago, I got to witness two of my really good friends get married. There’s something so beautiful about witnessing the coming together of two souls at a wedding.

Today was my first day back to school! If you’ve been keeping up with the blog this summer you know that I have been in summer school for what felt like forever. Trying to keep my successful students title going and all. Gah. So naturally, being back so soon isn’t on my list of things I’m excited about. However, I have always prided myself in being able to get my head on straight, jump back into the swing of things, and achieve success.
