Mind, body, soul. Isn’t that what we all say when we want something to affect us as a whole? In life, we’re all looking for something that will have great benefits for our entire being. Finding those things doesn’t need to mean — you signing up for an expensive yoga studio, paying tons of money for a trainer, or anything else you might seek in the name of ‘mind, body, and soul rejuvenation’. Sometimes, it can be as simple as staying in the comfort of your own home or office workspace, and doing something most people don’t do enough of: stretch. My philosophy is simple: STRETCH IT OUT and I’ll tell you why.
First off, I know some of you are like she built us all up just to tell us to stretch. That’s it? Yep, that’s it! Stretching really is something that can have great benefits for the mind, body, and soul. I’ll break it down for you guys below!
FOR THE MIND: Stretching allows for relaxation and quiet moments that are necessary for us to recharge throughout the day. It’s also a great reliever of stress and anxiety. Stress can cause our muscles to tense up which is never a good thing. I can directly relate to this because I’m always stressing. so to help ease that stress I STRETCH IT OUT!
FOR THE BODY: Stretching promotes a better range of motion for those tough joints, flexibility, and pain relief we all are prone to having at times. It also helps improve or solidify posture. Your balance and muscle coordination will be improved tremendously by taking about 15-20mins each day to stretch it out.
FOR THE SOUL: Stretching promotes a greater sense of well-being and tranquility in those quiet moments, similar to meditation.
So, the next moment you have time to kill during your lunch break opt for a stretch instead of a nap. Do your body some good and STRETCH IT OUT!
