I have been dying to run out the house in a mini loose dress and run wild. Omg.
I’m talking house on the prairie vibes; running through a field and not caring who’s looking feels.
Either the weather hasn’t been right, finding the right ‘House on the Prairie vibes’ field has proven difficult, OR shaving my legs has not been a priority and they’ve been too beastly to make an appearance… Hey! I’m just being honest. Now that spring is fastly approaching however, I’m trying to kick my ass into gear (and my wildebeest legs) and shape up.
I don’t know about you babes, but I like to re-organize my closet and essentially refresh for each new season. I enjoy throwing things together by bringing life back to what others may consider old and worn, purchasing a few new key items for that particular season:
Think loose mini dresses, light washed denim, over the shoulder tops, chokers, and easy on the go sandals or tennies.
AND say adios to what just isn’t working anymore. I mean, they don’t call it spring cleaning for nothin’.
I’m just so excited to have another reason to shop for new pieces to add to my wardrobe. I’m also super pumped that I’ll have a valid reason why swiping my card and throwing things into my shopping cart in the middle of the night before school the next day is necessary.
Conscious moments with yourself about shopping can be tough without a good explanation.
Before purchasing anything new, I threw two things together to achieve that ‘House on the Prairie vibe’ I was yearning so bad for.
The top (how many of you guys thought it was connected to the dress?!), which is super inexpensive is something I will cherish always no matter the season. Its off-shoulder detail adds a level of femininity that I will never get enough of or want to do without. The vertical stripes make me look lean and long in the arm area, but is still loose enough to catch the spring winds.
The dress that I threw on over the top is so House on the Prairie minus the floral, it makes me sick. First of all, it’s so dang comfy. You babes KNOW how I feel about comfort, so this dress is a hell yes for me. It’s mini component adds a little bit of Texas gal flare and the buttons running down the middle add a level of chicness I die for.
Lastly, I threw on a pair of strappy sandals because what says spring more than strappy—sandals.
I added the choker because as I’ve said in a previous post, whenever I have something on that exposes a lot of skin up top— I like to bring everything back home with a statement neckpiece.
The watch, the best Christmas gift from my parents two years ago is Michael Kors.
This look is just the start of my Spring Wardrobe, with more to come on With Love, Thelms. Spring is fastly approaching, so I’m trying to get my shit together.
As we speak, I’m actually making purchases to add to my wardrobe while getting ready for lunch with my roommate.
I might also be on the hunt for a House on the Prairie field too — for my next shoot day with Jules, if I leave early enough.
I’ll keep you babes updated,
xx Thelms.
