Thank God for Fridays babes! I feel so freaking pumped that I’ve made it through yet another weekday. There’s nothing like looking back at the week on a Friday and thinking — MAN, I made it through. With that in mind, I’m keeping this post as light as my spirit feels and jumping straight into today’s fashion post: Pretty In Pink.
So honesty hour.
I’ve never really been a big fan of the color pink, until recently.
I know it is supposed to be every girl’s favorite color, but it’s never really been mine. What can I say? It’s just not one of those colors that doesn’t immediately catch my eye when I’m out shopping alone or with girlfriends. I mean, don’t get me wrong. It’s a beautiful color, but only if snagged in the right shade of pink (in my opinion).
+ it has always bothered me that people just assume every babe’s favorite color is pink and pink only. For starters, the color pink is one of those colors that can get extremely obnoxious rather quickly. I think that may be one of the reasons I was never into it. The other reason — I have always been a minimalistic gal and pink can get very not so minimalistic.
However, in recent years I have completely changed my tune. This is because the color pink doesn’t always have to be the dreadful hot pink that I’ve hated in the past. It comes in so many different shades that there’s a pink for every babe’s personality.
For my personality, soft or pastel baby pink is where it’s at, playing a huge role in how I stay Pretty in Pink.
So this look.
Last Thursday, I was in a mad dash to find an outfit for a wedding I was headed to that coming weekend.
Back to the mad dash…
In the thick of my said dash I visited a few stores before settling on a discounted dress from Topshop. I was immediately drawn to the dress as it hung freely on the rack believe it or not… because of the color. The pastel pink was soooo pretty you guys! It also helped that it was almost too PERFECT for a summer wedding.
Scoooooore for the home team (as in me because I’m home… yeah – definitely sounded cooler in my head). The tied ruching in the front gave the dress a fancier look, making it all the more perfect for the wedding. I especially loved that the dress was short enough to catch breeze, but long enough to stop others from getting that ‘inappropriate vibe’ as soon as I walked into the church.
I also knew it would go perfect with the heels I had recently snagged from here!
After singing praises about this dress, would you believe me if I told you I didn’t even end up wearing it?!
Probably not, but it’s true. At the very last minute I decided I reeeeally want to do a pant situation lol.
Nevertheless, doing so doesn’t take away the fact that this dress is too good. In addition to it being the perfect pretty in pink number.

If you’re not a fan of pink like I once was, I sure hope the goodness that is this dress has given you much to consider.
As for me, writing this post has got me itching to get online and snag more pastel pink looks.
To more pretty in pink moments,
