My favorite thing about the end of the year besides it being the end of the year — is getting to look at my year in review. From my favorite moments with family/friends, travels, stories I’ve shared with you all, and of course… the fashion. At my core, I love any moment that calls for getting dressed up and going out.
Tonight’s post is for the fashion gworls baby.
To my favorite outfit of the days from 2021. Enjoy! X
#1 Everything about this outfit was so feminine, comfortable, and yet minimalistic in appearance. The tie up halter neck top made me feel so sensual without having to expose a true portion of skin. The YSL dupes went perfectly with this look because given the top I wanted to wear pants and look as tall & lean as humanly possible.
#2 This look was one of my favorites of the year for many reasons. For one, it was comfortable. I don’t believe in being uncomfortable in clothing (something I’ve preached to you guys since I started this blog). I loved that this look gave me the ability to exercise my street style with the custom Nike Pendleton’s (limited amount were made) and Skims by Kim Kardashian. There’s something so yummy about taking street style the athleisure route and making it beautiful.
#3 ALL TIME FAVORITE LOOK OF THE YEAR BABY. This look screams comfort and luxury y’all. I don’t think I’ll ever get over this ensemble. From the beautiful neutral grain trenchcoat to the white jumpsuit. Paired with the platform sandals and Chanel bag. Are you fucking kidding me?! I legit screamed when I put this look together because baby, it was everything and I KNEW it. Okay. It was very much giving — “I have the day off and I’m grabbing lunch with girlfriends and might pop in to bring my man some lunch — only after I do my shopping for the day.”
#4 A Little black dress is always and will forever be a moment. Need I say more? Yeah, I didn’t think so.
#5 This outfit appealed to the 8 year old Thelma that absolutely loved pink and was a Barbie doll feen. If you guys follow me on Instagram, you know these days my colors of choice tend to remain around the neutral realm — so this outfit was a little off from the tones I normally like to stay in. I loved it though. This look was also in collaboration with ShoeDazzle which was a pretty big deal for me.
#6 This photo embodies everything I felt that day: PURE JOY. I was out with my girls (we went to a museum/art exhibit) and we had the most amazing time. To the exhibit, I wanted my look to give off a professional, but modern take on viewing art. Pinstripes on any article of clothing are my favorite way to do that. It also didn’t hurt that the shoes I snagged from Zara some time ago went perfectly with my bag.
#7 Another little black dress because… well duh. My good girlfriend and I went to Nobu and I wanted to dress it up a bit, but of course still be comfortable. It was also pretty chilly that night so I opted for a knit dress and strappy heels. The outfit was just as yummy as the Yellowtail and Lychee martini.
#8 I loved this outfit because it’s a go to of mine when I need to get dressed quickly for a casual brunch with friends or a friend if you know what I mean LOL. This look doesn’t take much to put together which I could appreciate give the chaos of this year. A cropped blazer cinches the waist, high waist denim, and cute sandals. Three transitional pieces that go perfect with most anything, but best together.
#9 Yet another look that I could just die over. I was in Miami back in April, the weather was amazing and I wanted to be naked while roaming South Miami. Naturally I opted for a bikini top and cargo pants — PERFECT for the beach. My Zara bag brought the look together and the sunglasses from NAKD Fashion? Chef’s kiss, if I do say so myself.
#10 I also wore this look while out in Miami. This two piece set was specifically inspired by Kourtney Kardashian (whom I love when it comes to fashion, forget Kim). The long satin skirt with the matching top was everything for a beachy city like Miami. Light enough in fabric that I never got too hot, but covered enough that I didn’t get taken out by the random gust of wind or water that can result from walking on the beach at night.
#11 I absolutely love this dress. Point blank period. I discovered NAKD fashion and love their contemporary take on fashion. I fell in love with their company after purchasing this dress and have been in love with them ever since.
#12 I wore this dress during my solo trip to Cabo and baby girls and boys. Y’all have been dying over it ever since. I can’t tell you how many compliments and inquiries I’ve gotten on this dress. The print is bold, but memorable. Don’t say shit when y’all see me in this again in a few years. Just go ahead and mind your business.
#13 Another look from my solo trip to Cabo back in July. Here’s the thing about this look: The dress did not originally come like this. It was a whole other vibe going on that did not suit me nor was I into, but when I saw it — I saw the vision. I saw what I could do to it to make it what I wanted, so I purchased it. I cut, sewed, and tied it into what you see now. Isn’t she a beauty?! I also couldn’t leave that beautiful burnt orange on the website. It belonged on vacation with me.
#14 I wore this to my cousin’s wedding and baby it was giving okay. I wanted to take my traditional material modern, so I looked up dress designs on House of CB and pulled inspiration into this look with my tailor. I did not want something over the top, but more of a subtle sexy. She gave me that and so much more. Thank yooooooou, Mrs. P!
#15 This particular outfit of the day was one of my favorites because it was the first time I’d gotten dressed and snapped a photo in months. It’s not so much that I loved this look, more that I love the headspace I was in and this look reminds me of that. I was feeling good, relaxed, and just at peace. This outfit speaks to that. The top is comfortable, the skirt not tight at all. I let my hair air dry that day. I felt so serene and… free.
#16 Last, but certainly not least my final outfit of the day from 2021. One of my favorites because I wanted to pay homage to Clueless in a modern way. The headband with the black mini skirt and the square neck top. Perfection. I’d be remiss of course to not mention that dad sandals. This look was everything because I was comfortable, but felt very much like a lady.
Hope y’all enjoyed my breakdown of my favorite look from 2021. Can’t wait to take on new trends and dive deeper into my love of fashion in the coming year while sharing them with you all.
Toodles.
With Love.
