Little Fires Everywhere… whew. That show did a number on me because it was just too good.
You guys when I tell you that from the moment I began watching this show, I could NOT STOP watching… I literally could not stop watching this show.
My goodness.
When the rumor mill first began buzzing that Kerry Washington & Reese Witherspoon were set to embark on a project together — I nearly lost it. In their own respective lanes, they were powerhouses. Most known for their award winning roles in television and cinema.
With that in mind, it was a no brainer that when Little Fires Everywhere premiered on Hulu shortly after, I had to watch. & watch it I did, a little late to the party, yes. However, not without being able to catch the fun at its height.
From around 1AM till 8AM the following morning, I started and completed the limited series.
For those of you who may not know, Little Fires Everywhere, originating as a book was adapted into the TV show which found its home on Hulu. The Story explores two women from differing upbringings / lives who become intertwined in the quaint town of Shaker Heights, Ohio. The television adaption chronicles the contentious relationship between main characters, Mia Warren (played by Kerry Washington) and Elena Richardson (played by Reese Witherspoon). Explorations of race, socioeconomic status, child rearing, secrets, lies, and so forth are expanded on throughout the short series. Therefore, if you’re looking for something that will cause you to think, raise questions about the ways we view others, and analyze how our upbringings can truly MAKE OR BREAK US… this is the show for you.
Not to mention the cast was stellar in its entirety.
From the reviews alone, fans also connected with this show on so many levels. From the ways in which Kerry Washington’s character chose to instill deep love into her daughter — to Reese Witherspoon’s character choosing to use perfectionism as the mask she used to hide the cracks in her life.
Little Fires Everywhere, is a show whose lessons during each episode will surely stand the test of time.
It is relevant, raw, and real.
It’s a must watch, so do yourself & watch.
Just don’t pull an all nighter,
Thelms
