MORE JESUS IN JULY SERIES: WEEK FOUR

Christ

It’s another Sunday in July babes, so I’m sure you know that means. Another entry in the More Jesus in July series, chatting about Christ, is what it means. As always, sharing new bible verses and their relevancy has been amazing. It’s presented me with the opportunity to dive deeper into the word and truly breakdown scriptures and the stories behind them. If you haven’t been able to check out the series, there’s still time! The last entry in this series is next week, so before it all comes to a close, catch up. Read up here, where it all started before next week’s final entry in the series.

In the meantime, for my gals who’ve been keeping up with the series each week…

Keep reading for week four of this five week series, More Jesus in July.

Christ

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God…”

Ephesian 2:8

Man oh man, is this bible verse relevant to the times. So much of society forgets that all the wonderful things that Christ has brought them through isn’t because of them. BUT because of HIM. It’s not by your own will that you passed that test, met the man of your dreams, became successful from the wrenches of where you might have been, made it through that rough patch…

It’s not by our own might, but by Christ.

This verse was meant for us as children of Christ to understand the successes of our life aren’t solely because we did it ourselves. He wants us to remember that it’s because of his love and adoration for us, that our prayers were answered. Due to this, we can now smile with glee at the different successes we have been granted.

For me, this bible verse like many others in the good book, means a great deal. Getting into nursing school wasn’t peaches and cream like most things concerning my education previously have been. I found struggle where I believed there to be peace. It was a difficult pill to swallow at the time, but if it hadn’t been for the love and adoration Christ has for me (as a child of God)… I wouldn’t have made it in. I know that. I believe that. Since getting in, all of the successes in nursing school aren’t because of me. They are because Christ loves me so much as his child that he has continued to be with me every step of the way. I can’t forget Christ now that I feel like I have passed the struggle phase. Instead I have to call on him more than ever to remain with me, if and when struggle decides to reappear.

It’s easy to think:

If I work a little harder at work, I will get the bonus I deserve.

If I study harder, my grades will show proof of that.

If I put myself out there more, I will meet the man of my dreams.

If I stay focused, I can make my dreams come true.

However, redirect those thoughts to be centered around Christ. It’s not about what you will do to be successful so to speak. It’s all about what Christ will instill in you to do, to be successful. After all, it’s by HIS grace you will be saved. Remember? Don’t just think.

Instead pray for things like:

Dear Lord, please instill drive and determination in me, so I will get the bonus I know you have waiting for me.

Dear Lord, please grant me the ability to retain the information I gather while studying, so I can make the A’s I know you have aligned for me.

Dear Lord, please send me a man of Christ that will be the man you see fit to carry my heart.

Dear Lord, please provide me with pristine focus to stay grounded in the dreams you have ready for me, so that they may come to pass.

So babes, this week I leave you with this:

Remember that it is by the grace of Christ that everything good in your life is happening. Always remember to thank him in times of happiness as well as in times of sadness. For, it is Christ who will pull you from sadness and he is the same Christ who will keep you in happiness.

See you back here next Sunday, for the final entry (major sad face) in this wonderful series, More Jesus in July.

Remain blessed,

Thelms xx
