MORE JESUS IN JULY SERIES: THE FINAL HOORAH OR IS IT?

Happy Sunday babes.

Did someone say something about a final hoorah? I can’t believe the last Sunday in July is finally here. It feels like just yesterday, I was introducing you guys to the series. Since then, I have spent weeks sharing my faith with you guys and I have loved every single minute of it. Reconnecting with my faith has been so monumental for me in my walk with Christ. I can only hope that as much as I have benefited, y’all have as well.

As for benefits — Reading through the Bible is the best form of self help anyone can receive in my opinion. The good book opens your eyes to the challenges and successes many people have faced, and how they powered through them. In my day to day life, it makes me confident that all things are possible with Christ by my side.

With all that being said, it’s caused me to reconsider ending this series. I mean how could I?! After listing all the good this series has done and the potential it has to still do, there’s no way I can end it. There’s hundreds if not thousands of bible verses I still want to share and chat about.

So as for the final hoorah, there will be no such thing. I might just have to rename the series from this point on and create a tab at the top of the blog, so access to this every Sunday is a lot easier. I hope you babes are just as excited as I am to keep this show on the road!

In the meantime, keep reading for tonight’s bible verse and chat about its relevancy.

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”

1 John 1:9

The bible verse speaks volumes to me, in so many different ways. As human beings, we aren’t perfect. Try as we might to walk righteously through life, we make mistakes. Christ tells us that it’s okay, but to come to him during our mistakes and be honest. Just like our parents encourage us to be honest about situations we’ve gotten ourselves into that we know we had no right being in the first place — Christ encourages us to do the same. He doesn’t want us to shy away from him due to the sins we’ve committed. Instead he tells us to come to him and admit what we’ve done. In the same token, Christ will forgive our sins and cleanse us from our missteps.

Remember that when:

You lie.

You disobey.

You sneak out.

You grow quick to anger.

You yourself are unwilling to forgive.

Or whatever the case may be…

But listen babes.

That doesn’t mean that we should continue committing the same sins because Christ is faithful and will forgive us our sins. Nope, not in the least bit! Instead we should give thanks by using it as an opportunity to make better choices the next go around. Think about it. Making a conscious effort to do better and not sin in the same regard, would be the best way to give thanks to the Lord for forgiving you in the first place.

So I leave you babes with this:

Be willing to kneel before Christ and admit your wrongdoings. Nevertheless in the same regard, make a promise within yourself to never commit the same wrongdoing again.

Though it’s officially the end of this series — See you babes next Sunday, for Faith with Thelms: 7/6!

So much for a final hoorah.
