You guys, it’s officially my 23rd birthday! Happy Birthday to me! Time flies when you’ve been blessed with the opportunity to live a wonderful life surrounded by those you love and cherish.
Waking up this morning, felt like any other day — that is until, in a matter of seconds it hit me.
“Today is your birthday Thelms.”
The first word that came to mind after that thought: thankful.
I feel so thankful and blessed to be allowed to see a new year of life. Birthdays are a big deal to me for that very reason. Every year that we get to celebrate, surrounded by friends and family is something to be thankful for. I feel so blessed to have people in my life who love, value, and respect me. As I get up there in age, birthdays are becoming even more sentimental to me than ever before. It might have something to do with the fact that as we age, more responsibility and growth is required of us as individuals. No longer can birthdays be solely about “turning up” and “getting wasted” beyond capacity. I believe birthdays are about that, but most importantly they are about the level up. There’s just something to be said about the elevation of individuals from one year to the next.
In believing that, it causes me to reflect on my own elevation. I am bombarded with ideas on how to take my career, my life, and my spirit to the next level.
I’ve got to elevate.
I want to push myself this year to do more.
By growing in spirit.
By thriving in my career.
By taking complete charge of my life.
So as you wish me happy birthday, I’m going to also ask that you do me one tiny favor babes.
Pray for my elevation.
Something tells me, this year’s going to be pretty kick ass with tons of elevating on the horizon.
To growing in love, life, and the ultimate pursuit of happiness…
