I love watching award shows! The Golden Globes is no exception. To watch the celebrities come out of the limos and SUVs in their best is my favorite part. I particularly love tuning into the E! Network because they are always doing Red Carpet pre-shows for major award shows. I love watching Ryan Seacrest and Giuliana Rancic interview celebrities about anything from what they have on to what they ate before getting to the red carpet. Watching the award show Sunday helped me narrow down my list of the best dressed at the Golden Globes this year. After taking a look through mine, I’d love to hear what were some of your best dressed looks for the award show in the comments below!
Hands down without a shadow of a doubt Kate Hudson was my favorite look of the night. She looked effortless and spicy in Michael Kors collection. Her blond was the perfect accent to the gold tone shimmer on the two piece outfit itself. The tailoring was impeccable. Go Kate!
If the Golden Glob statue was a real life person with beautiful hair, it would embody Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Seeing her on the carpet in this Atelier Versace gown was insane. The blond hues in her hair were perfect for this dress much like Kate Hudson’s, but I appreciated the golden tones in Whiteley’s hair a little bit more.
Yes, yes, yes. Malin Akerman never looks bad. I mean she can put anything on and just look fantastic. She’s always daring and never afraid to show some skin; any skin. I love that about her! In Reem Acra, she looks nicely structured and her silhouette is to die for. Whenever one thinks of the Golden Globes it’s a given that gold is somehow always associated with it. I love that she stayed to the farthest color from gold in this silver detailed gown. The peplum portion really draws in her waist line effortlessly.
Jenny from the Block, J.Lo, Jennifer Lopez… whatever you may know her as. There are no words. This look is the epitome of class, elegance, and wealth. I am not a fan of canary yellow, but when Jennifer Lopez does this color you change your opinion. Giambattista Valli has never looked better. The choice to do a dark lip with such a bright color off sets the look in the best way.
I love every single thing about this look. From the hair, makeup, styling, and lack of many accessories this look is pure elegance. The plunging v neck gives off the right amount of skin without being distasteful. The print of this Genny dress isn’t overwhelming and very transitional. I think it’s important when dealing with a plunging neckline, the hair is pulled back and out of the face completely. Jaimie Alexander’s dainty emerald earrings gave off just enough dazzle without taking away from the dress.
More plunging neck lines coming right up! Jenna Dewan Tatum looked stunning at the Golden Globes. The way the light reflected off of the detailing on the dress on camera was quite the visual experience. I appreciated like Jaimie Alexander, that her hair was also pulled back and out of her face. I like the earrings she chose to pair with the gown instead of sapphire earrings to match her dress. The detailing on this Zuhair Murad Couture gown was more prominent than the blue. The cinch in the waistline allows for the body not to be lost in the gown which I also love.
Going crazy for Gaga literally. The Marilyn Monroe vibes she gave off Sunday evening were stellar. She looked classic and timeless. I love the velvet material too and I usually hate it. In this Versace number she turned heads and seeing the movement when she accepted her Golden Globe was beautiful. Oh, you didn’t know? Lady Gaga won her first Golden Globe last night for her role in American Horror Story. This Versace gown was the perfect gown to accept her very first Globe in and one that will always be remembered as the epitome of class.
Jada Pinkett Smith was also in Versace and looked timeless. I usually don’t always like when women do the whole ‘shoe match my dress thing’, but I love it in this case. The hair, the subtle green eyeshadow, and everything about her look is effortless. She looks so good for her age my goodness. Age really isn’t nothing but a number in her case.
Rooney Mara in Alexander McQueen was everything. This dress was a bundle of tatters, beads, and rouching = perfection. I love blush tones on any article of clothing because I just find it hard to mess it up. You can pair blush tones with anything and against her alabaster skin, it’s perfect. Her projecting collarbone and chest area exposure is the best way to do it. I don’t have a bad thing to say about this look. Rooney Mara is so beautiful. To be honest, I think she looks good in everything.
Miss Golden Globe! Though Corinne Foxx is known because of her father Jamie Foxx, I believe in the next few years she will be a force to be reckoned with. The theme for a lot of the Golden Globes gowns were exposing a lot of upper chest area and tons of plunging necklines. Miss Fox was no exception in this look. I like that this look was elegant and still kept with the theme of showing skin in a tasteful way.
