YOOO.
I know I’ve gone completely ghost on the blog, but there’s a few good reasons why. One being that school recently just picked back up again, and for some reason I’ve had a tough time adjusting. The others being that I needed to piece new content together and just get my life in functioning order again. I can now say with excitement that I’ve pretty much done all three things, which is why I’m back chatting with you babes. In light of my return, I wanted to jump into sharing! I’m all about putting you babes up on game and today’s post is no different.
SO. Keep reading for my First Impressions on Benjy’s, a new food spot I visited a little bit ago.
A few weeks back (before chaos swung its wild ass my way), I visited a to die for brunch spot; Benjy’s. It was actually a friend of a friend’s birthday celebration and it just happened to be thrown somewhere I’d never been. After hearing raved reviews from a few of the girls before actually making it there my excitement began to build. By the girls saying things like,
The food is so good omg.
Their brunch vibes are everything, you’re going to be obsessed.
Benjy’s interior is everything.
The food literally melts in your mouth.
I just knew I was about to be hooked and I can’t say that I minded one bit.
Minding about being hooked was the least of my concerns after arriving at Benjy’s and taking everything in.
For starters, the inside of the restaurant was so much bigger than the impression I got from the outside. That’s huge for me because as cute as your establishment may be, I hate feeling like I’m suffocating or cramped up while trying to enjoy some good ass food.
No bueno.
Once inside, I felt like I was at a super artsy modernized food spot. Besides the yummy food being walked passed me to its deserving tables, Benjy’s interior and art left me a bit mesmerized if I’m being totally honest. Call me a dork, but I really appreciate food spots that aren’t all about the food as ironic and silly as that may come across.
I mean yes, the food has to be good. Duh. However, where I’m eating my food has to be pretty freaking appealing too. Am I right or am I right?!
With it’s vibrant colors and overall woodsy feel, Benjy’s definitely gave me ‘pretty freaking appealing‘ vibes almost immediately.
As for the food — I ended up ordering the Beef Migas, which included a huge bowl of beef with guacamole, queso, sour cream, cilantro, and eggs. I assumed that the serving size of that meal wouldn’t be filling enough, so I added French Toast on the side. Let’s just say that may have been the best or worst decision I made that day. Best, because I feasted like no other. Worst, because (TMI alert) after eating so much food, my stomach was bubbling later that day like champagne bubbling profusely in a glass. One can only imagine where I ended up LOL.
YOLO though.
You guys. The food was so good, I can’t finish typing out this sentence without salivating at the mouth just thinking about. To be honest reminiscing on the yummy goodness I had that afternoon, puts my dinner tonight to complete shame.
The beef was tender and perfectly seasoned. The eggs weren’t scrambled hard, but not runny (I hate runny eggs btw). The guacamole, sour cream, and cilantro were the perfect add ons, adding their own unique flavor to the meal overall. The french toast wasn’t mushy and the toppings were perfect.
EVERYTHING WAS JUST SO DAMN GOOD Y’ALL.
I hope you guys go visit Benjy’s if you haven’t already and fall in love like I did. As for you babes that have — what are y’alls thoughts on Benjy’s? Let’s chat about it in the comments below.
Till then, I’m off to head back into the semi-organized chaos that is my life now that I’m back in school full time.
Laters babes.
