So this morning I want to jump straight into some fashion talk and chat about trends.
This summer saw the emergence of many trends from the surge in popularity of polka dots to the surge in popularity of lace bodysuits and wide leg trousers (or track pants). For the latter we owe Kim K for that because yeah. She made it look so dang good.
In the spirit of taking on a few trendy looks this fall and making it my own, I decided to start by channeling my inner Kim K and “recreate” her infamous lace bodysuit + wide leg track pants look.
So. Keep reading for how and why I’m Channeling My Inner Kim K For Less.
So this look.
Ever since Kanye West took over Kim K’s style and overall “look” I have to say I’ve fallen more in love with trends than ever before. This is because most of the outfits Kim K’s been rocking recently, quickly become the latest trends and take on a full steam ahead approach within the style industry.
However, that’s not to say that everything she’s pictured in is undoubtedly amazing. I’ll leave that to my actual favorite Kardashian, Kourtney. Some of Kim K’s pieces are a bit too wild and over the top for a little ole’ Texas girl like myself.
Speaking of wild and over the top… I’m almost positive there’s a secret “wear the most risky, fly, and wild shit” wager you sign upon leaving the LAX airport and officially entering the City of Angels.
Until, I receive my own wager, I’ll stick to trends and the channeling of babes that are actually relatable to me and my style.
When I first saw photos of Kim K in this look, I all but died. The look was so chic, feminine, and minimalistic (in the sense that not much effort seemed to go into putting it together).
I knew I had to recreate the look, but make necessary tweaks to tailor it to myself.
For starters, I opted to snag a bodysuit that wasn’t as revealing as hers because,
1) my boobs are a lot bigger than hers are and 2) showing off my girls so fragrantly makes me a bit uncomfortable, believe it or not.
With the pants, searching for a pair that looked exactly like hers seemed pointless, so I hit up my fave online store and purchased uber comfy wide leg trousers with a bold white streak on the side. I finished off the look with simple black strappy heels and my fave Aldo purse.
To also channel my inner LA vibes, I threw on sunnies from here to truly complete the look.

The thing about trends is finding the ones that work for you and truly making it your own. I’m a firm believer that it’s okay to shop the latest trends, but I also believe that one should do it in a way that’s tasteful and tailored to them.
P.S. I feel a rant brewing, so there will be more on trends in the next post 😉
