Monday mornings or just the entire day is tough. I mean really tough. It’s the first day of the week and usually the worst day of said week. There are so many reasons why people dread Mondays. It’s either because you hate your job, the worst class of the week starts today, or you woke up on the worst side of the bed. However, because I’m all about making us feel good I want to share with you what music I’m listening to today; that is sure to set your mood in the right direction. Setting your mood and getting excited about getting things done, is always the most important part of a productive Monday morning and entire day.

Got the late night munchies? This happens usually when you’re studying and need a snack to munch on; watching TV late at night; or just hungry. I always get the late night munchies. There are times when I’m able to resist and other times I just can’t. Luckily I have a system that ensures I make healthy decisions when those cravings come up in the wee hours of the morning. I take on healthy tiny portion sized snacks to curve my appetite and send me straight back to my room satisfied.
Calling all coconut oil lovers! This post is especially for y’all. Coconut Oil is one of my favorite “super-foods”. Extending from a kitchen necessity to face benefits, coconut oil is a jack of all trades. Super-foods are usually those that have many health benefits outside of just being yummy in your tummy. They can be the best way to tackle any issue you may be having, both externally and internally. The benefits are pretty awesome. My mom is very into everything natural and not processed, so naturally (Ha! What a play on words) I have taken the same route. Today many are becoming more inclined to include tons of different super-foods into their diets. One of my favorite places to go for my super-food needs is Whole Foods! I could roam the aisles for hours and get lost. I wouldn’t mind one bit. They have the best natural substitutions for some of your favorite products.
Yoga and meditation anyone? I’m all about relaxation and staying zen throughout this year (it’s one of my New Year’s resolutions). I want to make it a priority to remain calm and sane. If everything around me is complete mayhem; I want to make sure that my spirit remains peaceful. I believe that when you go through life with a calm spirit you’ll be better off. You will be better off because you accept that everything happens for a reason and life goes on. I am definitely trying to adopt that attitude in every way this year. What has helped me tremendously with adopting that mentality is yoga and meditation.
I think reading is a great way to expand your knowledge and it’s a healthy hobby for the mind. My favorite pastime is reading. I’ve always loved escaping into a new novel and becoming one with the characters. From the moment you start reading to the moment you finish reading, you are engaged in a world unlike your own. I don’t know about you, but that’s exciting to me. I have loved reading since I was little and that’s a love that will never die. I remember being so anxious to finish my homework in elementary school, just so my mom would let me read Junie B. Jones novels after. I think everyone should take up a good book every once in a while because it’s good for your health. Reading is a nice way to calm down the mind and relax. I use reading as a way to relieve stress and you should too! My good girlfriend and I have this unofficial book club running, so we’re always finding new books to read. Today I want to share with you guys my book of the month for January. I know it’s only the 13th of January, but I’m a fast reader!
