WHY PHONE CALLS BEAT TEXTING WHEN DATING

Hi guys and happy Wednesday. Ever since incorporating dating advice into WithLoveThelms.com — I’ve noticed something.

You guys love it.

Though I’m not sure where you are in your own personal life (married, single, actively dating — like myself, or trying to get ready for your next), I’m so glad that you guys are loving it.

In light of that, in today’s post I’m diving deeper into, Why Phone Calls Beat Texting When Dating.

Hope y’all enjoy!

SO.

I think we can all agree that dating is the process of getting to know someone new.

You eat out at yummy food spots, take walks in the park, and whatever else you both can come up with to get to know each other. Days turn to weeks and before you know it — that someone new is now someone you’ve known for almost half the year, go figure.

However, I think it’s necessary to note that going out, taking walks in the park, and so forth isn’t the only way to get to know someone new.

The most basic way of all that is often overlooked now more than ever — Phone calls.

Is it just me or were phone calls all the rave back in the day? & RIGHTFULLY SO. Before, texting and shorthand communication took over that is. It was so easy to get to know someone outside of planned hangouts. You didn’t have to wait to see them again to hear from them. You were able to learn natural ways to retain a level of closeness with that person whether they were near or far.

I mean how can you not want to find yourself doing such random things (hanging upside down like Spider-Man) because you’re so into the conversation. Too into what they have to say and getting to know them on a deeper level. That is the cute shit that I love.

& I don’t know about you guys, but it’s what I feel like I need when dating someone new. I need to feel that we’re growing because in most situations/settings — the goal is to find your person as they find you. I don’t think that can be done by texting someone more than y’all communicate on the phone. I mean here’s the thing. Words get misconstrued all the freaking time. BUT, hearing someone say something? Looking at them while they’re speaking to you? You can’t beat that. You just can’t.

At the core, every girl or male (to some extent) wants to feel like you both can have the best time in person, but are also capable of having just as good of a time on the phone.

What do you guys think?

Am I on to something or am I tripping? Let’s chat about it in the comments below.
