There are times during the week that you’re just busy! You don’t have time to go grab some food so packing something light and easy is essential. I believe that lunch is a necessary part of each person’s day. It’s what keeps you going and allows your body to refuel for the next half of the work day. If feeling sluggish during the middle of the day has occurred, more often than not it could have a lot to do with being hungry. Consuming something small and light could make a world of difference in your body. My go to lunch/snack is Avocado Toast. Today, I want to share with you guys how I make mine. I’m obsessed!
First, I start off with laying out all the things I will be using in my kitchen. Those things for this meal are…
One avocado
One tomato
Two slices of whole wheat bread (toasted)
Cayenne Pepper, Black Pepper, & Salt
Personally, I hate going back and forth between the fridge and/or the pantry when I’m fixing anything to eat. What can I say? I’m a one stop shop kind of girl. Presenting everything you’re going to be using to make a meal at once, just makes things easier.
I start true preparation of the meal by slicing up my avocado on a cutting board. You can slice the avocado or even scoop it out if you wish; whatever’s your preference. Personally, I just like my food to look pretty. Presentation is everything! I watch a ton of Food Network and The Cooking Channel, and that’s a big thing for them.
I follow up the slicing of the avocado by slicing up my tomato. I think it’s important to cut the tomato into thin slices because you don’t want the chunkiness of it to overtake the toast. I then season it with Cayenne Pepper, black pepper, and the tiniest dash of salt.
I complete the meal by putting everything together. I spread the avocado onto both slices of toast evenly. I then place the seasoned tomato slices on top and add a little bit more cayenne pepper.
WAHLA! There you have it! Avocado Toast made easy. Avocado Toast is the perfect snack for any lunch time break because it’s so easy to take on the go. It also helps that you can make it in the morning before work in less than 10 minutes. Avocado is a great source of Omega 3 fatty acids that the body needs. The whole wheat toast is beneficial for burning up healthy carbs faster, which will aid in allowing you to remain full longer. My JUJ for December; Cayenne Pepper will help with increasing metabolism. This will give you more energy and help with digestion. Oh! Of course a little salt *ain’t never hurt nobody!
