Doing my hair has always been something that is a part of my everyday routine. Whether it was my mom putting barrettes in my hair as a young child, or getting up early in high school to make sure my hair was ready for the day; it’s always been something that’s important to me. Now that I’m older, my hair is usually transitioning between being natural or having sew-ins. Today, I want to share with you guys how I achieve my 10 minute go to up-do, with my natural hair minus all the sew-ins.
I remember when I used to literally die when I needed a perm, but hadn’t gotten one. This meant that I would have to wear my natural hair and doing so used to be a point of contention for me. I didn’t always know how to tame it without the help of my mom, and society’s stand point on natural hair then is a lot different than it is now. Outside of society’s views, I got to a point where I was like “who cares. As long as I stand with confidence, no one can make me fall victim to shame.” In most recent years, natural hair has become all the rage and it’s been a bit since my hair has seen a perm box.
I love my natural hair in all its dense curl glory.
